Culture & Counterculture at the 1960s Museum of Modern Art, Oxford

Hilary Floe, Curatorial Researcher, presents a talk on Modern Art Oxford’s early history. From its beginnings in 1966, the founders sought to make an ‘alternative’ site for display. Its curators and many of the artists they worked with envisaged an institution differing from the ‘traditional’ museum, in which audiences could interact more directly with the radical new forms of art emerging at the time.
